Files to prepare
A strong RFQ usually includes both a 3D CAD model and a 2D drawing. The 3D model defines shape; the drawing defines manufacturing and inspection requirements.
Checklist
- 3D file: STEP, STP, IGS or native CAD when available.
- 2D drawing: tolerances, threads, finish, datum, notes.
- Material grade, quantity range, finish, delivery target and any certificate needs.
Useful context
Tell the supplier if the part is for prototype validation, a fixture, a replacement component or a repeat production run.
